Dr Teresa Gehlen:
I was born some time ago in Toppenish, WA. I grew up with 4 sisters, several cats, dogs, gerbils, birds, and a horse. During that time, I also brought home various animals that needed care including a raven, crows, magpies, rabbits and turtles. My parents were kind and patient people who fostered my love for animals from an early age.
I graduated from WSU College of Animal Science and worked in the valley for a couple of years on brood mare farms, and at an equine clinic as an assistant to the veterinarian. It was a wonderful job that gave me a deep respect and love for the veterinary profession.
I returned to WSU and graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. I began working in Yakima as a small animal practioner from 1993 to February of 2014 before taking off on my own to start the Sage Country Veterinary Service.
It is my hope that this practice will allow me to continue to care for my patients in the Yakima valley in the best way that I can. I have forged close ties to my patients and their wonderful owners.
Currently, I live in Zillah, Wa with 4 cats, 6 horses, and 3 dogs, (most of whom are in the pictures on this site)
My hobbies include - puttering around on my ranchette, playing guitar, reading fiction, very amateur photography, and horseback riding.
