Here’s the facts: Every living creature, to be at optimum health requires –
  • Adequate rest,
  • nutrition,
  • housing,
  • exercise/movement,
  • and healthy mental stimulation.

With these, the body instinctively knows to heal itself from injury, maintain good immunity, digestive and reproductive health. (We call this ‘innate’) Without each of these, the individual suffers and cannot maintain optimum health.

Chiropractic keeps in mind all these criteria, while focusing on the movement of the joints in the body; In particular, the movements of the joints in the spine. If the joints of the spine (or vertebral column) cannot move through their full range of motion or become stuck in one place (subluxation), this can affect the spinal cord, as well as the nerves and blood vessels entering and exiting the spine.  Communication within the body is compromised resulting in pain, abnormal movement, decreased immunity, digestive and urinary issues, as well as reproductive issues.

The aim of veterinary chiropractic is to restore joints to their normal range of motion, thereby improving communication within the body, contributing to overall health, and ultimately helping animals to operate at peak performance.

All animals of any age or breed can benefit from chiropractic care.  Growing animals need proper alignment to grow and mature properly;  Working animals often develop subluxations that can affect their ability to work at full potential;  Finally, older animals will often move more smoothly, with less discomfort with regular chiropractic adjustments.

Chiropractic care does not act as a replacement to regular visits to the veterinarian, rather it combines with veterinary care to keep animals working to the best of their ability. All animals should be seen by a veterinarian regularly for healthcare and all animals benefit from regular chiropractic exams.
